This is the first UVC (short-wavelength ultraviolet light) system designed to quickly disinfect an aircraft’s interior surfaces in minutes, between flights. According to the manufacturer, there are no known resistant organisms or “superbugs” that can withstand UV-C light, including Coronavirus.
The machine (no larger than a flight attendant’s food and drink cart) has retractable wings with germicidal UVC lamps that target seat belts, seat backs, armrests, tray tables, overhead bins, washrooms, window shades, floors and more.
The process takes about three minutes: one pass up the aisle, one pass down the aisle, and a minute for each washroom & galley. The light technology in this device has been trusted & relied on by hospitals for over 50 years.
Airlines and airports taking a leading role in enhancing cabin cleanliness will be rewarded through increased passenger satisfaction & loyalty. The initial step towards this goal is to gather more info.
